advisory board

This Board sets the overall objectives of the foundation. Its members are:

Aloysius Purwa (AL)

Al is a MBA graduate and in 2010 began his term as District Governor for Rotary D3400 Indonesia. He is also the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands, Past President of Skal International Bali, Past Chairman of the Bali IATA Agents, past President of PATA Bali Chapter, a VP of the Bali Tourism Board and the Chairman of ASITA Bali Chapter. Al currently also serves as the Managing Director of KCB Tours & Travel, Managing Director of Cempaka Belimbing Villas, and Director of Aneka Beach Hotel. He is a Rotarian and a Charter Past President of Rotary Club Bali Kuta.

Dr. Anak Agung Asmarajaya

Educated in Jakarta and Australia, Dr. Asmarajaya is Bali’s leading plastic surgeon and currently is the head of the plastic surgery department at Sanglah Hospital. For several years he has worked with the Cranio Facial Institute of Adelaide, headed by the world renowned Dr. David David. Since 1994 Dr. Asmarajaya has donated his services to perform over 600 cleft and lip palate operations that have been financed by the Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua. Dr. Asmarajaya is a member of the royal family of Peliatan.

David Magson

David holds dual Australian and British citizenship. A Mathematician by training, he is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Currently resident in Singapore he worked in Indonesia for many years, prior to which he worked in the mining industry in the UK, Africa, and Australia. David currently serves as the Group Chairman of the Mitrais Group. David was awarded a M.B.E. by the British government in 2003 for activities associated with the Bali Bombing when together with others founded YKIP.

This Board supervises and advises the Management Board. The members of this Board are all well respected and are senior medical practitioners or Consulates from foreign embassies in Bali. Its members are:

I.B Tjakra Manuaba

Pak Tjakra was born in Denpasar in 1948. He is married with one daughter. He graduated from the University of Gajah Mada Medical School in 1973. In 1980 he underwent specialist training in Public Health at the University of Hawaii,. He finished his general surgery training 1982 at the University of Hasanuddin, Makassar, and received further training in oncology and surgical oncology in Singapore (Head & Neck Cancer Surgery) in 1983, 1985, 1988, 1993, Free University, Amsterdam, Groningen Cancer Center (Breast Cancer, 1986), and Tokyo Women Medical College (pancreatic cancer, 1984) and National Cancer Hospital Japan (Gastric & Colo-Rectal Cancer) in 1993. He finished his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in Cancer in 2006. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant of Surgical Oncology at the Department of General Surgery, School of Medicine, at the University of Udayana in Denpasar and is also the Head of the Surgical Oncology Division, Department of General Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Udayana/RSUP Sanglah Denpasar, Bali. He is a member of the National Board of Study of General Surgery of Indonesia and a member of the International Society of Surgery in Switzerland. During the bomb blast, he was in charge as team leader in treating the victims.

This Board carries out the Operation and Management of the Foundation. Its members are:

Purnama Bulan “Wiwie”

Wiwie is an Indonesian and currently serves as the President Director of PT Mitrais. She has a degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Public Relations. After the first bomb blast, Wiwie coordinated the donated medical supplies inventory with the assistance of Mitrais staff and has continued her association with YKIP until now.

Djati Siahaan

Djati is a Registered Accountant who graduated from University of Indonesia in Jakarta. He has more than 20 years experience in Non Profit Organization.

Endah Puspito Wardhani

Pipit, as she prefers to be called for short, has a law degree from Universitas Udayana and she is currently the corporate legal counsel for PT Mitrais. Prior to her current role, Pipit previously worked for non-profit projects with the University of San Francisco and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, as well as working for several other private limited companies.



A.A. Ayu Ratna Wulandari – KEMBALI Program Coordinator

Ratna who graduated from Udayana University, majoring in Public Health, started to join YKIP on July 2014. Previously, she worked for NGO who concerns on child and HIV/AIDS issues. Her dream is to design an effective bottom-up program by working closely with the community, understanding their issues and encouraging the community to be empowered. She believes that empowerment starts from education. That’s why she decided to join YKIP.

Ni Wayan Purniati – KEMBALI Admin Officer

Purniati is a former KEMBALI student who officially became a member of the KEMBALI team after completing her two-month apprenticeship at YKIP in November 2011. This apprenticeship was a graduation requirement by her college, Bisma Informatika. With her Diploma in Computerized Accounting, she works as KEMBALI Admin Officer. Herself being familiar with YKIP outreach and administration assignments, YKIP is optimistic that Purniati’s valuable experience and high motivation to help the disadvantaged students will contribute to the improvement of the KEMBALI Scholarship Program in Bali. Recently, in 2016, Purniati managed to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Management from University of Ngurah Rai.

Pande Nyoman Adi Putra – KEMBALI Field Officer

Pande was one of vocational scholarship beneficiaries. After graduating from Alfa Prima, a vocational training institute, and receiving two honorary awards, Pande decided to dedicate his time and skills for YKIP. Since September 2017, Pande has been supporting YKIP as a field officer for KEMBALI and is also currently assisting the Vocational Scholarship Program. He contributes a lot in conducting surveys for the scholarship beneficiaries. Besides travelling and photography, Pande loves to be involved in any kind of social activities. He said that YKIP is the right place where he can realize his hopes to develop the education of disadvantaged children in Bali. Pande also expressed his strong motivation to continue his study to bachelor’s degree soon.
