Career Day 2012

  • 2015/03/24

Just a few weeks ago, one of our KIDS scholars talked about her confusion in choosing the field of study after graduating from high school. At first she wanted to become a midwife, but considering the competitiveness among midwifery graduates all over Bali, she was afraid that it might be difficult for her to find employment by the time she graduates from college. Her second choice was to pursue a degree in Economics, as large employment opportunities are always available in this field; however, she thought it may not suit her aptitude and interest.

She is just one of many 12th grade students who has to overcome this dilemma. Most high school students are not well-informed about choices to take at higher education and what kind of career opportunities waiting for them afterwards.

To overcome this problem, YKIP is planning to organize an event in early May called “Career Day 2012”, immediately after the High School National Exam is completed. The objective of this event is to assist our scholars in determining their futures. In this event, YKIP will provide the scholars with interest and aptitude tests which will help them identify the most suitable field of study. As for other graduates who have to dive into work force after graduating from high school, YKIP offers Resume Writing and Interview Skills Workshops to make them better prepared to apply for a job.

This activity is open to all 12th grade students from our KIDS and KEMBALI program. Let’s hope this event will be successful and that it can lead children to a better future.
