Creating a Business in Photography with Pande

  • 2020/04/17

You may remember the story about Pande, our field officer who was also a former sponsored student in KEMBALI and Vocational Programs. After finishing his study in vocational program, Pande continued his education at a university, while working as a field officer at YKIP at the same time. Pande is passionate about photography and has become a great photographer. Many photographs on YKIP social media were taken by Pande and one of the prominent pictures in YKIP’s crowdfunding account was also captured by him. He then developed his hobby into a promising business. Using his free time after work and study, Pande started his own online photography business. Taking advantages of various social media platforms, he has been getting many clients for his photography projects. He has worked with a number of travellers, businesses, influencers, and even with local government institutions.

His hard work was recognised by his campus and he was invited to be a speaker in an entrepreneur seminar held by the Digital Entrepreneur Students’ club. The seminar was held on 13 March 2020 at his campus and was attended by many students who were interested in starting a business in photography. During the seminar, Pande shared about the history of his journey in establishing his business. He also pointed out the secrets of how he turned challenges into opportunities. Additionally, the young entrepreneur shared the hacks to start a business, especially in the field of photography. The participants were incredibly enthusiastic, which made the sharing session ran lively.

“Photography as a business has a very big opportunity to grow, because many people like to be photographed and love to have good pictures to be displayed on their social media platforms. Moreover, people are also keen on documenting their precious life events through photos and videos. It is a trend now that every event has their photos and videos taken for documentation.” Pande concluded his sharing in the end of the seminar.
