From September to December this year, the Kembali team has successfully held two events of distribution, 1st term in August and September, and 2nd term in October and November. In the first quarter YKIP distributed one school bag full of school supplies to each scholar, including uniforms, a pair of shoes, writing books, vitamins, and a stationery set. Cash allowances distributed to parents included snack allowance, allowances to purchase workbooks from school, and enrolment fees for the 7th and 10th graders. YKIP also provided assistance to pay school fees directly to school officials in this term of distribution. In the second term of distribution, YKIP distributed vitamins for the students and snack allowances were distributed to the parents.
In the first term, we awarded prizes for the “Kembali Best Grades”. We picked the three winners from the 12 program areas and selected the “Best of the Best” from all of the Kembali scholars for each level of education. The deserving winners are:
Unfortunately we are still having some students leave the program. In the 2nd term of this academic year, 15 scholars from the total of 548 scholars dropped out of the program. The main reason was that they were unable to achieve the minimum grades required (primary school scholars require to maintain their grades minimum 6.2, and 6.5 for secondary school scholars). It is our hope that we will not see any more drop outs in future terms.
