Charlie Lyon (a fifth grader at Tanglin Trust School in Singapore) on his own initiative in 2006, wanted to support a charity and chose YKIP-YKIDS. In 2007-2008 they donated Sing $4,373 and in 2008-2009 Sing $3,849. They obtain these funds by selling postcards, paintings, washing cars, etc. The students in Charlie’s class made a CD in 2009 with the children of Tanglin singing commercial as well as ORIGINAL songs they have composed and used that as a fundraising scheme. They also have beaded bracelets made her in Kuta that they sell in Singapore (and they gave us two, which we proudly wear!)

The Tanglin Trust School of Singapore< have been supporters of our KIDS students since DATE. There are 24 students who are currently in the 7th form (6th grade to our non British readers) who, through charity days, car washes and other fundraising activities, raise enough funds to sponsor the educational costs of an average three students a year.

These 24 Tanglinites are simply amazing. They work with a Balinese bracelet maker on Kuta beach, who makes beaded bracelets with a tiny silver heart on them (that say KIDS—see photograph below) that are sold at their Boottop days, along with baked goods and other things that are all organized by the students themselves. Under the leadership of one Charlie Lyon, these same 24 students follow him as he comes to Bali many times a year and visits with his sponsored students, NAME and NAME.

In 2009, these students put together an audio CD with poems and songs that they wrote themselves called CHATTERBOX. This is sold to raise funds.
