Donor: Dr. Andrew Glover
Novi is currently in the fifth semester of her Nursing Degree at Udayana University. She is sponsored by Dr. Andrew Glover through the YKIP University Scholarship Program.
Novi is one of the best students in her university and also is one of the best sponsored students of YKIP. Her GPA for the third semester was 3.47 out of 4.00 and for the fourth semester was 3.61 out of 4.00. The fifth semester is a great semester for Novi. She is attending a new course in nursing entrepreneurship and according to her; this course is very different from previous subjects. Previous subjects related more to the technical aspect of nursing. Initially Novi was a little confused as she had trouble locating material about entrepreneurship. Fortunately, after attending the class, she began to understand what nursing entrepreneurship is all about. She now understands that the nursing entrepreneurship course develops nurses’ potential to create a business.
By knowing nursing entrepreneurship, nurses will have the tools required to create a private nursing clinic in a specific field of nursing. Another interesting event for Novi was the Nursing Olympics. Due to her academic results, she was selected to represent her faculty for the competition. The competition was organised by Udayana University and was attended by all nursing schools in Bali. Novi was not confident at the beginning since her competitors included seniors and many students from other nursing schools. She received support from her classmates and lecturers and in turn was committed to try her best in the competition. She studied very hard and she even had to know some subjects that she had never been taught before. Her hard work paid off and the results were that she was the successful winner of the Nursing Olympics competition.
