In the first weeks after the bomb blast in Legian in 2002, Warti, Jontri, Rastini, Erniati, and Endang and their children were very shocked as they knew they had lost their husbands and fathers in that tragedy. So many tears could not help them stop their grieving. How could they raise their children by themselve as they had no support anymore from their husband? This question came up so many times until one day they met Moira and David Mitchell who assisted them to form a small business. As one of these women had worked in a garment factory, they decided to create their own garment enterprise. They received some equipment from sponsors and in February 2003 they started their business.

However, while they were starting their own business, they were also worried about their children’s education. How could they keep sending their children to school with very limited budget that was only enough for covering their daily life? This question was answered bythe KIDS project, a non profit charitable fund designed to provide a guaranteed education to the victims of Bali Bomb via investment fund/education bonds. Having this education assistance enabled them to see their children get a better education.

Jontri’s children, Yuli and Wawan, are in third and tenth grade. Rastini’s Children, Linda and Kadek , are in second and seventh grade. Erniati’s children, Putu Agus and Made Bagus, are in second and tenth grade. Endang’s children, Garil, Dwiga, and Izzulhaq are in third, sixth and eleventh grade. Warti’s son, Rahmat is in fifth grade.
