VISIT TO TANGLIN TRUST SCHOOL
The Manager of the KIDS Program, Sri Damayanti, visited Tanglin Trust School on 4th November 2011 to obtain more understanding about the fundraising project organised by the students for the KIDS program.
As part of the Tangling Trust School’s curriculum a class was required to organise their own charity fundraising project. The students were free to choose what type of charity fundraising project they would like to organise and what organisation would receive their support. The organisation benefiting could be based in any country in the world. Charlie led his fellow classmates to support the KIDS Program. The project was started six years ago. Every year Charlie and his friends organise at least two fundraising projects. The last event organised this year resulted in them raising more than $5,000.
During the visit, Sri met with Charlie and his mother, Krystina Lion. Krystina has been providing support to Charlie and his friends during the project and also is the sole contact that connects YKIP with Tanglin Trust School. During the visit, Krystina and Charlie introduced Sri to one of the teachers who assists the children with the fundraising project. Sri was also able to look at the fundraising project’s documentation and their wall poster where all pictures about the activities were proudly displayed. On behalf of KIDS’ children we would like to acknowledge Krystina and Charlie for their great contribution by coordinating the fundraising project of Tanglin’s students.
