Welcome to Labuan Bajo, Yoga

  • 2019/09/23

Yoga Pramana, one of the students in our KIDS program, finished his education at Politeknik Negeri Bali, majoring in Electrical Engineering in 2018. It was a proud moment he would never forget when he graduated from that college. Early this August, he excitedly moved to Labuan Bajo for working. Here is Yoga’s success story he shared with us.

“It was the time when I needed a father figure the most when my father perished in the Bali Bombing. I saw my mother broke down in tear when all of a sudden, we lost the man who was the backbone of our family. I remember vividly, my brother and I were still very young when we lost our beloved father, and everything became difficult afterwards. We relied only on our mother, but she could not bear the burden on her own. Our life was tough, and my heart shattered every time I saw my mother cry.  Then the God’s grace came upon us when My brother and I got supported by KIDS. The weight of educational fees had been lifted off my mother’s shoulders. She also felt relieved from the trauma by attending the gathering conducted by KIDS.

I could never imagine not having had the education support. How would have life been? I believe that my mother would've had to work hard to send us to school, but would she have been able to do it alone? I have never thought of going to university considering our situation at that time back then; but now, here I am. I finished my higher education from Politeknik Negeri Bali last year. After graduating, I have worked in several places. Right after the graduation, I assisted in a project owned by a friend’s father in Canggu, where I got a lot of experience. After finishing the project, I applied in a 4-star hotel in Ubud, Tejaprana. I worked there for 10 months as an engineer and decided to look for more experience. Although it was relatively short, I really learned numerous new things in Tejaprana. By having more working experience, I confidently applied in a five-star hotel in Labuan Bajo, The Ayana Komodo. Excitingly, I started my job there on the second week of August. I am grateful that I have the chance to study so that I can have this job.  I am thankful for the donors who have made my dreams come true: transforming from a boy who was anxious about the future, now to someone pursuing his dream in Labuan Bajo.”

We wish Yoga the best for his career. May God always bless you him and keep  his spirit up. YKIP would like to thank all donors in KIDS program for making this happen.
