New Vocational Scholarship Recipients for the 2025-2026 Academic Year

09 Juli 2025

After a thorough selection process since January 2025, YKIP is proud to welcome 14 new students to our Vocational Scholarship Program. These students, all former recipients of the KEMBALI Scholarship, graduated in May 2025 and will now continue their education at YKIP’s partner institutions.

Most of the students are from Gianyar, with four coming from Denpasar and one from Pengotan village in Bangli. Their areas of study include tourism-related fields, business administration, management, and hospital administration.

A Thoughtful Family Decision

Students were first informed about the opportunity in October 2024 and given two months to discuss it with their families whether they would pursue another year of study. For many, the decision wasn’t easy. Some families rely on their children entering the workforce immediately after high school to help support the household income. Understanding this, YKIP ensured families had ample time to consider the offer, since we realised that the decision could impact their short-term financial stability.

Choosing their path

During YKIP’s Youth Career Planning Workshop in December 2024, students who decided to take another year of training submitted their applications. YKIP then visited each applicant’s home to conduct surveys, and in some cases, additional steps were taken to ensure the students met the program’s criteria.

YKIP announced the selection results and guided the students through the registration process at their respective schools. In the hospitality-related training program, Puja and Kumara chose to continue their studies in housekeeping, while Karni, Windi, Dasning, and Tasya decided to deepen their skills in cooking. Triya opted to pursue further training in spa and wellness.

In Denpasar, three students continued their education in tourism-related fields: Prianda enrolled in a food production program, Kusuma chose to study food and beverage services, and Sintya decided to enhance her skills in front office operations.

Beyond the tourism sector, several students selected different fields of study. Era, from Tampak Siring, will pursue a program in business and administration. Rina, from Pengotan, chose to follow in her older sister’s footsteps, who works in a hospital, by studying hospital administration and management. Meanwhile, Indraswari from Denpasar will focus on digital business, aiming to learn how to leverage the internet for business development.

Preparing for the Journey Ahead

Before classes began, YKIP invited the 14 students for an induction session held at the  Mitrais office on June 6, 2025. During this session, they learned detailed information about the scholarship, their rights and responsibilities as recipients, and how to prepare monthly reports using email.

Realising that many would soon earn their own income, in the second part of the session, students attended a personal financial planning workshop. The workshop covered important topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, and understanding insurance, to equip participants with the tools to manage their finances wisely.

The new academic journey is about to begin, and we ask you to join us in wishing these students the best. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to our donors for making this program possible, and to our educational partners, Monarch Bali cabang Gianyar, Elizabeth International, and Alfa Prima, for their collaboration. Finally, special thanks to Mitrais for providing the venue for the event.
