Digital Literacy Workshop in Pengotan

09 July 2026

On 26 April 2026, YKIP proudly hosted an engaging digital literacy workshop for KEMBALI Scholarship recipients in Pengotan Village, Bangli Regency. This activity was made possible through the support of Technology One. Led by Mr Krisna Juliharta, a lecturer at Primakara University, the interactive workshop was held at Trikaya Strawberry Pengotan. The event brought together 20 enthusiastic students and their parents.

Through this informative, hands-on session, YKIP aimed to equip students with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and confidence they need to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly before graduating from senior high school.

During this session, Mr Juliharta shared valuable insights on how the students can protect themselves from online crime, reminding them that not all information should be shared publicly on the internet. Confidential personal details, such as home address, date of birth, and ID numbers, should only be shared with the appropriate authorities when necessary. Without proper safeguards, personal data can be compromised and misused by criminals.

Mr Juliharta also discussed the issue of cyberbullying and its potentially harmful impact on the victims, highlighting that some people may not realise that their online behaviour can constitute cyberbullying, making it even more important to understand what responsible digital conduct looks like.

Another important topic was online grooming. Students were encouraged to be cautious when interacting with people they don’t know online, as individuals who appear friendly and trustworthy may have hidden intentions and seek to manipulate others for harmful purposes.

Before concluding the discussion, Mr Juliharta offered practical advice for students who may become victims of cybercrime or cyberbullying. He encouraged them to first speak with trusted adults and to seek help as soon as possible. He also provided contact information for institutions that can offer support and assistance in such situations.

Transport allowance distribution after the digital literacy workshop

After a lively discussion on the digital literacy workshop, YKIP distributed the transport allowances to the students and their parents. YKIP staff also collected thank-you letters from the grade 12 students, which will be forwarded to their respective donors.

YKIP is grateful for the opportunity to conduct this workshop and to equip students with practical knowledge to navigate the digital world safely. Our appreciation goes to our donor, Technology One, for making this workshop possible. We also thank Trikaya Strawberry for providing the venue at no cost. We would also like to thank Mr Juliharta for generously sharing his expertise with the students.
