Becoming Campus Ambassador: Era’s Story

13 April 2026

Era’s journey is a testament to how determination can turn challenges into success. A vocational scholarship recipient from Gianyar, she is now a Business Administration student at Alfa Prima Denpasar and was crowned campus ambassador in February after completing a rigorous three-month selection process.

In this role, she represents her campus at formal events and promotes it to the public. The ambassador’s election took the form of a pageant, where candidates competed in the final round held as a public event.

The journey began in November last year, when I went through the selection process and training until the end of January 2026. At first, it felt like a typical learning experience, but over time, I realised it had changed me drastically. I never expected that even small things, such as the way I sit, stand, and speak, could shape how others perceive me. I also came to understand that appearance plays a significant role in how we interact with others,” Era shared.

The Grand Final

The participants in this event were representatives of campus organisations, and Era was selected to represent the Student Executive Board. Out of 18 pairs of participants, only 10 pairs advanced to the grand final in January.

Era was not very optimistic about winning, but she successfully passed the initial selection along with 19 other participants and eventually secured a place in the top 10. The grand final was held in a mall in central Denpasar, where she competed with nine other finalists for the title of female campus ambassador.

I was so nervous. I saw many talented participants and truly admired them. During the event, I just focused on doing my best in answering the questions and left the rest to fate. I was already surprised to be in the top 10. From there, I went through interviews with the panellists, a talent show, and finally walked on the catwalk and answered the final question. I didn’t expect to win, but when my name was announced, I was on cloud nine!”

As the winner, Era now takes on the responsibility of representing her campus in public relations activities. She attends formal events, promotes the campus, and takes part in positive activities both on and off campus until February 2027.

YKIP is proud of her achievement and wishes her all the best in her endeavours.
