Vocational Scholarship Recipients in the 2024-2025 Academic Year

12 July 2024

We are delighted to share that YKIP continues to support our beneficiaries through the one-year training of the Vocational Scholarship Program, thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors. Fourteen students were selected and sponsored this academic year after a rigorous selection process that started in February.

Vocational Scholarship in Tourism

This year, twelve students have chosen to undergo one year of training in the tourism sector. Similar to last year, their interests span a range of areas, including Food and Beverage Productions, F&B Services, Front Office Management, and Bartending.

There are five students from Gianyar Regency currently training in tourism-related sectors. Three of them – Dian, Serly, and Nata – are honing their skills in Food Production. Another student, Setia, is focussing on Food and Beverage Services, while Gekmas is training to become a reliable receptionist. Meanwhile, Adi is levelling up in Bartending. With these five students continuing their training there, it marks four years of partnership between YKIP and the Gianyar branch of Monarch Gianyar .

The other five students from Karangasem are attending their training with our campus partner, the Candidasa branch of Monarch Bali. Dewi and Bobi decided to gain more skills in F&B Services, while two other students, Erik and Raditya, are focusing on becoming more competent in Housekeeping. One student in Karangasem, Oni, has chosen to learn cookery skills.

This year, we have expanded the scholarship program to Singaraja. Two students from Les Village will receive funding for their one-year study at Monarch Bali’s Singaraja branch. Cipta and Juli will both study Food and Beverage Services. We hope their success will inspire younger students in Tejakula to pursue higher education.

Vocational Scholarship in Administration

In addition to the vocational scholarship students pursuing careers in tourism, two students, Desy and Sadwika, have made different choices. Desy from Karangasem has decided to continue her studies in Business Administration for one year at Alfa Prima Karangasem. Meanwhile, Sadwika has registered in Accounting and Taxation at Alfa Prima Denpasar for the coming year.

YKIP is thrilled to see the students embarking on specialized training for their future. This initiative marks a significant leap toward securing better job opportunities and higher incomes, significantly improving their families’ economic conditions. We are grateful for the generous support of our donors, Riot Games, through their grant in collaboration with Global Giving. We also appreciate the kind support from our campus partners: Alfa Prima Denpasar, Alfa Prima Karangasem, Monarch Bali Candidasa, Monarch Bali Gianyar, and Monarch Bali Singaraja.
