As 2024 came to a close, in addition to preparing holiday greetings for our generous sponsors and submitting accountability reports, the YKIP team also hosted one of our most anticipated annual events: the Youth Career Planning Workshop (YCPW) 2024.
This special event, designed to help our sponsored students plan their futures after high school, took place on December 14. A total of 78 Grade 12 students from the KEMBALI Scholarship Program participated in this enriching experience.
This year’s workshop was held at Kampus Monarch Bali Gianyar and led by our main facilitator, Nyoman Agus Jagat Raya. The event began with an introduction to the program, followed by team activities where students were grouped into teams of eight. Together, they discussed a set of dos and don’ts to ensure a productive and respectful environment throughout the workshop.
The first session featured Ibu I Gusti Agung Istri Rimbawati Prawitra from Kawan Lama Group, who delivered an insightful presentation on effective job interviews and CV development. She shared practical tips for creating standout CVs, provided valuable insights into her company, and highlighted potential job opportunities for students in the future. To make the session even more impactful, she conducted interview roleplays with the students, giving them a hands-on understanding of what to expect during real job interviews when applying for their first jobs.
Sharing by the Experts
We were thrilled to welcome Ibu Evi Kusumayanti from Renaissance Uluwatu, a distinguished expert in the hospitality industry, who generously shared valuable insights, practical tips and strategies for success in the field. She emphasized the importance of strong communication skills, as the key factor for thriving in this dynamic industry.
The event continued with an engaging session by Bapak Diaz Dwiastamika from Mitrais, drawing from his nine years of experience in the IT industry. He introduced the industry’s fundamentals and the wide range of career opportunities, emphasising teamwork and confidentiality as essential qualities for success.
Finally, we were also honoured to welcome Dr Ni Luh Komang Chandra Dewi, M.M., the Head of Postgraduate Studies in Management at Triatma Mulya University, who passionately inspired students by discussing the wide range of career paths in business management. She encouraged the development of motivation, discipline, and the value of working smart while highlighting the vast opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs in today’s dynamic business landscape.
In addition to these sessions, the YKIP team shared information about 2025 scholarship opportunities, including our one-year training in the Vocational Scholarship Program and other scholarships provided by various partners. This served as an important reminder for students aspiring to pursue higher education.
The workshop also featured an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage directly with the speakers and ask questions. To maintain a lively atmosphere, we incorporated fun games that energized the participants and boosted their enthusiasm.
We hope that the knowledge gained during this event will have a lasting impact on the student’s future endeavours. Finally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the speakers, Kampus Monarch Bali Gianyar, BRI Kuta, Mitrais, volunteers, and YKIP partners for their invaluable support in making this event a success.
See you at the next YCPW event!
